"There are no termbases on the server that can be accessed with the current login. [...]" error when trying to access GroupShare termbases in SDL Multiterm Desktop.

Symptoms/Context
When you are trying to open server-based termbase in Multiterm Desktop you get the following message:

There are no termbases on the server that can be accessed with the current login. Try connecting with a different user ID.

Resolution

Add the Settings to the GroupShare Console

  1. Connect to your Trados GroupShare application server 
  2. Open Trados  GroupShare Console, and check if the  MultiTerm Master Database settings (location and name) are filled-in.  If by searching it in the Windows Search command you cannot find it, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Server\Application and launch Studio Server Console.msc
  3. After filling in the required data, click on the Apply Changes command on the right-hand side of the console (below Actions). This will restart the Trados  GroupShare services.

Root Cause
Trados GroupShare has lost it's MultiTerm Master Database settings.
