Sometimes background jobs suddenly stopped processing. The jobs would then stay in the (growing) queue with status In Queue until I restarted the Idiom Process Monitor. Is there another way to restart the background jobs other than restarting the Idiom Process Monitor?

While it is possible to restart the workflow engines using ws_gate as described in this article:

How to restart the Workflow Engine via ws_gate in WorldServer

it is currently not possible to use the same method to restart the background engine.
