Tridion Docs - HTTP Request was Forbidden

Scope/Environment
Symptoms/Context

When installing Live Content architect you get the following message after you have entered a correct username and password: Access is denied

When clicking on details, you see the message:

"The HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden"

Resolution
  1. Open IIS Manager and navigate to the level you want to manage.
    1. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).
    2. For information about navigating to locations in the UI, see Navigation in IIS Manager (IIS 7).
  2. In Features View, double-click SSL Settings.
  3. On the SSL Settings page, clear Require SSL.
  4. In the Actions pane, click Apply.
Root Cause
IIS using HTTPS when HTTP request is made.
