How can I delete project file(s) from a Trados GroupShare server project through Trados Studio?

Scope/Environment
Trados GroupShare
Trados Studio
Question
I published a project to Trados GroupShare and want now to delete specific project files due to several reasons through Trados Studio.
However, in the Files view of Trados Studio when right-clicking a source and/or a bilingual file the Delete Files menu item is greyed-out and cannot delete any file(s). How can I delete project files of published projects?

Answer
This is currently by design, however if having this ability is important for you, please use our GroupShare Ideas forum to make a suggestion.
Until this feature is implemented, you can apply the workaround described in the Resolution section.

Workaround: Unpublish and re-publish project

The only way currently to do delete specific project files/documents, is to unpublish (delete) the Trados GroupShare project through Trados Studio, make the modification to the local project and then re-publish it again. Please note that this will delete the project from Trados GroupShare, so you must make sure you have the latest versions for all files and every user has saved and checked in their work if the project is in use.
  1. Open Trados Studio and go to the Project view
  2. Right-click the project and select Unpublish Project
  3. Double click the project to switch to the Files view.
  4. Select in the left menu the source and/or target language you want to delete files from.
  5. Right-click the project file(s) and select Delete Files.
  6. Go back to the Projects view and (re-)publish the project to the Trados GroupShare
