You use AnyTM > Any server-based TM to add a server-based translation memory to a project that has a language pair inverted compared to the project's language pair.
(E.g. your project is English (US) -> German (Germany) and the server Translation Memory is German (Germany) -> English (US).)

However, no existing translation units are leveraged.
Also, when adding new translation units to the Translation Memory, those translation units are added with the languages inverted (e.g. English is added as German, and German is added as English).

 

Reversing language pairs not supported 

While adding any Translation Memory regardless of language direction to a project is supported for server Translation Memories, reversing language pairs for server TMs is not yet implemented (see RWS Documentation).

Therefore, when adding a German (Germany) -> English (US) server TM to a English (US) -> German (Germany) via AnyTM, the source language of the Translation Memory (German) is treated as the source language of the project (English) and the target language of the Translation Memory (English) is treated as the target language of the project (German). I.e. the actual languages of the Translation Memory will be ignored.
This leads to the behavior described above.

Reversing language pairs is not supported for Server-based Translation Memories. An enhancement request was logged for RWS Development, but this will no longer be implemented for server-based TMs. It will, however, be implemented for cloud-based memories in the future.
