Non-braking hyphen missing after translation in Trados Studio

Symptoms/Context

After opening a file for translation in Trados Studio you notice that in the target file the non-breaking hyphen are missing.

Resolution

Enable the option File > Option > File Types > Microsoft Word 2007-2016 > Common > Extract optional hyphens

Root Cause

The non-breaking hyphen is considered as special character therefore is not extracted by default.
