Resolution
1. Close Trados Studio.

2. On your computer, go to C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\Platform\Identity and rename the folder SDLTradosStudio.exe to e.g. Old_SDLTradosStudio.exe

3. Perform a Repair and Reset to the default settings for your Trados Studio software.

NOTE: If the Repair process is not possible because you do not have administrative credentials to perform it, apply a manual installation by installing (simply double-click and wait to complete) the 3 .msi files from:
  • for Trados Studio 2019  go to C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2019\modules
  • for Trados Studio 2017 go to C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2017\modules
  • for Trados Studio 2015 go to C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2015\modules

4. Restart Trados Studio and attempt to add again the GroupShare server address.
Root Cause
Corrupted credential settings files.
