Symptoms/Context

When trying to start Trados Studio you receive the errors:

Service 'Sdl.TranslationStudio.Api.ProjectManagement.IProjectManagementService' could not be started.
or Failed to add window command bar extensions.

with the additional error:

The type initializer for 'Sdl.Enterprise2.Studio.Platform.Client.IdentityModel.IdentityInfoCache' threw an exception.

Resolution

1. Close Trados Studio

2. Go to C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\Platform\Identity

Note: If you can't find the path above, open Windows File Explorer, click on View and check "Hidden Items" checkbox: https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001137

3. Rename the folder SDLTradosStudio.exe (e.g. SDLTradosStudio.exe-old)

4. Open Trados Studio
