Subscription-based activation in Trados Studio fails with message “Your Language Cloud subscription has expired”

Symptoms/Context
You are trying to activate Trados Studio with your subscription. 
In the Product Activation window > Language Cloud Subscription/Subscription tab, you select your account and click on the Activate button but nothing happens, and you receive the message:

Your Language Cloud subscription has expired. To renew it or select a new package, visit your RWS Account.

Resolution

Reset your cloud settings for Trados Studio:

1. Close Trados Studio

2. Copy/paste this path in Windows File Explorer:
  • For Studio 2024: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio18
  • For Studio 2022: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17
  • For Studio 2021: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16
3. Delete any file with the name LanguageCloudMachineTranslation.bin This resets the cloud credentials on your computer.

4. Open Trados Studio again and activate it with your subscription
