When opening  Trados Studio after installing the SDLXLIFF Compare plugin you encounter the error message below:

The type initializer for 'Sdl.Community.XliffCompare.Core.Processor' threw an exception.

1. Make sure Trados Studio ( including the error message) is closed
2. a.  For Trados Studio 2022 Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages (just paste the path in Windows File Explorer and hit Enter) 
    b.  For Trados Studio 2021 Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages (just paste the path in Windows File Explorer and hit Enter) 
3. Delete the plugin you installed
4. Go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\SdlXliffCompare  and rename the folder to SdlXliffCompare_old 

Note: If the plugin is not in that location please repeat the step for the 2 locations below

For Trados Studio 2022:
C:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages

For Trados Studio 2021:
C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages

5. Start Studio and check if the issue still occurs
