Opening a file for translation in Trados Studio gives the: Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed error message.

Resolution

Move the .sdlxliff file a couple of folders up or move it to the Desktop and check if you can open it for translation from there.

Root Cause

The path from which you are trying to open the file for translation is too long.
