How can we put into use the DeepL Glossaries while working in Trados Cloud (Trados Enterprise / Trados Accelerate / Trados Team) ? |
!NOTE! To be able to use DeepL Glossaries in Trados Cloud (Trados Enterprise / Trados Accelerate / Trados Team), you will need a V2 DeepL Pro API key subscription and Trados Studio 2024. 1. Make sure to have a V2 DeepL Pro API key subscription 2. Install the DeepL plugin from RWS Appstore in Trados Studio 2024 3. Add the DeepL provider in Studio from the Default Project Template settings: File > Setup > Project Templates > Default > Edit > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Use DeepL MT Translation Provider: 3. Choose the API Version - V2 (DeepL Pro API subscription) then press the Manage glossaries button. 4. Give the Glossary a Name and specify the desired Language Pair, click Done, and Add a new Glossary: 5. Select the newly created Glossary and click the Edit button: 6. Add the terms you need in the Edit glossary section and click Apply. 7. Make sure that the newly created Glossary is selected as the default one in the Project Template setup of DeepL: 8. Create a new project in Trados Studio, based on the above Project Template set-up so far. As an example, for the language pair EN > DE, if you have the EN Source word "red" added as the DE "burgunden" in the DeepL Glossary (instead of the word "rot"), when you open the file in Editor, you will see the word "burgunden" in the target. 9. In the Trados Cloud (Trados Enterprise / Trados Accelerate / Trados Team) setup, make sure that the DeepL Machine Translation provider is added in the Tenant using the same API V2 key used in Trados Studio 2024 (see: Trados Enterprise/Accelerate/Team: How to install and activate the DeepL add-on) 10. The cloud Glossary settings should contain the Glossary you created in Trados Studio 2024. There are 2 ways in which you can map the glossaries: A. Using the Language Code and the Glossary name e.g. {"en>de":"RWS"} B. Not detailed, with just the name of the Glossary: ["RWS"]
12. Open the file in the Online Editor: the target section will be populated with values from the Glossary - which can be observed in the Lookups Machine Translations panel too. !NOTE2! At the moment, there is no way to directly select the DeepL Glossary in the Translation Engine. The DeepL Glossary should be added in the DeepL plugin configuration on the tenant, and then adding the DeepL NMT to the Translation Engine will be enough to make use of the Glossary. |
