Knowledge Center: After SSL certificate renewal login via publication manager is not possible anymore

Symptoms/Context
After renewing SSL cert the PubMan and editors no longer connect. All the thumbprint seems to be fine, the only errors in the PubMan logs look like this:

System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException: An error occurred when verifying security for the message.

Server stack trace:

Resolution
Recreating the .sdf file in the ISHSTS directory.

1) Close all clients.
2) Rename the .sdf file.
3) Stop/Start all the app pools.
4) Open client and re-try.
Root Cause
Certificate issues with recreating the .sdf file.
