Trados Studio does not support .ts files “out of the box”, as they are not a common localizable file type.
To translate .ts files you have these options:
- Open the documents in Passolo, which also has this plug-in installed (https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/sdl-passolo-add-in-for-qt/308/).
- Build a custom Regular Expression Delimited Text file type filter in Trados Studio. A basic filter (which can process simple .ts documents) is attached to this article. You can further customize this filter if needed
- 1. Open the file in Notepad++ and save it as an XML
2. Create a new XML/XML2 file type based on the source.xml file
3. Add at "File dialog wildcard expression" *.ts
4. Leave only source elements as translatable and set others if needed as not translatable
5. Open the ts file for translation - Resort to our Professional Services department for them to provide a fully customized and supported solution
